The NFMI earplugs transmit sound clearly with no loss in sound volume, or directionality. They are comfortable to wear. I have the AMP headset on the lowest volume setting which sounds completely natural and I forget that I am wearing the earplugs even on the lowest setting - amazing!
Let me tell you something about HCC as a company… I bought the Ops Core AMPs (non NFMI) for like $1100. The NFMI amps came on sale a few days later and a I reached out to them to see if I could get the order switched but keep the price the same. The basically demanded I get a refund and gave me a $104 gift card! Amazing company that I’ll be buying from many times over!!!
These are amazing. I don't think I would bother spending the money on the AMP headset without these. I don't think the AMP is worth the price tag compared to Peltors or even Sordins. However, paired with these, it's totally worth the price tag. They do an amazing job of protecting your hearing while not giving up anything in terms of hearing compared to wearing AMPs without these.
With NFMI turned on, it was like not having these plugs in at all, when I was just walking around. But as soon as a shot breaks, it mutes the entire world like double plugs should.
Bought these to go with my Ops-core headset. Used them at the range as a standalone and they worked just fine. Finally received the headset and they work better then expected. The problem with over the ear protection is when you wear glasses it creates a small hole for noise to travel through. Now, with the addition of these ear plugs I get both inner and outer protection without sacrificing situational awareness gathered from noises.
